Spoiler-free Movie Review Thread
Ok, so you've just gone to the cinema (or movie theater), or borrowed your friend's DVD and you want to share your opinion about it? Well, here is the thread to do just that! Here, you can post spoiler-free movie reviews! I'll start:
The Bourne Legacy
A follow up from the originial Bourne trilogy, Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz star in this. I personally felt that the film was too long and a little pointless as it only covered the same ground as the first films. If you have not seen the first films, it is difficult to understand this one and I struggled to grasp the story until about an hour in. There are too many characters to keep track of, some of whom will pass through completely unnoticed. The ending was extremely abrupt after an overlong motorcycle chase and didn't really leave me wanting more.
However, positives include the performances of the actors, especially Jeremy Renner (who I love to pieces <3) and some of the earlier scenes, featuring a wolf and several missiles. Very James Bond. I liked the backgrounds used- especially the use of Manilla and I think it was Alaska. The pace was good for most of the film but dragged towards the end. Several times I found myself thinking, "When will this end?"
Overall rating- 3/5
And I'm going to see Expendables 2 later today so I'll review that as well.

Re: Spoiler-free Movie Review Thread
Seeing as you didn't do it, I'll do the Expendables 2 xD
The Expendables 2
This film stars Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth and Arnie just to name a few. After seeing the first one, I was holding out much hope. It had been extremely violent, dull and I switched off from it after about half and hour. I have to admit that the only reason we went to see this film is because our mum likes Chuck Norris. I thought it was going to be just like the first one but I was pleasantly surprised.
The acting was bearable and the violence was not over the top and gory. The plot was slightly predictable, as was the dialogue but it was enjoyable and didn't bore me to death. Liam Hemsworth was a nice addition to the team but I felt that the new character of Maggie was simply in there to be a love interest. Special effects were fine and our mum loved seeing Chuck Norris quoting a Chuck Norris fact xD
A billion times better than the first one- only see this film if you like lots of violence and a fair bit of blood.
Rating: 4/5 (I'm not sure it was that good but it was better than the Bourne Legacy)
Most people probably thought it was terrible though xD
